Work continues to progress well across the scheme, with landscaping now the main focus at Ports Creek. Hydroseeding of the embankment has been completed and native shrubs have been planted throughout the area to support biodiversity. Woodland drainage works are also largely finished, with new Breedon gravel paths taking shape.
The team has recently been carrying out salt marsh planting, helping to create valuable habitat for wildlife while also supporting the area’s natural coastal defences. Elsewhere, new wildlife-themed totem posts have been installed at Ports Creek, celebrating species found locally, with information panels to follow soon.
Work is continuing on the final path surfaces, and visitors may also spot several beetle loggeries in the woodland area. These log piles provide important shelter and breeding spaces for insects and other invertebrates, helping local wildlife thrive.
