As work on the North Portsea Coastal Scheme continues to progress towards completion, the temporary scaffolding footbridge installed during construction is due to be removed.
The pedestrian route through the Portsbridge car park has now reopened and will be available for public use from Monday 28 September.
To allow the temporary structure to be dismantled safely, the London Road footbridge will be temporarily closed on Monday 28 September and Monday 5 October. The footbridge will remain open as normal between these dates.
Diversion routes will be in place during the closures, including an accessible route for those who require step-free access.
The removal of the temporary footbridge is an important milestone for the project and reflects the significant progress being made on this section of the North Portsea Coastal Scheme as work moves towards completion.
