The Footpath remains closed
As essential SGN emergency gas work coinciding with our planned work continues, the temporary diversion we have put in place along the car park cannot be used yet. (see diversion map)
Once the emergency gas work is completed in this area, we will be able to open our temporary footbridge leading over the car park and offer a shorter diversion route.
This week SGN completed all underground pipe work and the team are now starting to reinstate the diversion path. We are hoping this will be completed by the end of next week and we will be able to open the shorter pedestrian diversion.
We have been assured by SGN that the emergency work will be completed as soon as possible and we will update you as soon as we have a confirmed completion date. Thank you for your understanding.

A whole lotta rock…
Work on the embankment continues to plan
Work on the rock revetment along Ports Creek continues to be on schedule and we are now nearing 50% of rock work complete – half way through! The rock revetment forms the creek side part of the defence embankment, protecting the shoreline from erosion. We are also reusing the nutrient rich foreshore material (the muddy layer you may have noticed on top of the rock) to provide habitat for marine plants such as salt marsh, which in turn will attract more marine wildlife to the area.
