We are delighted to inform you that the temporary overpass at Peronne Road footbridge has now undergone all safety checks and has been fully approved. This means that the footbridge is now reopened to the public.
Please take care when using the temporary overpass that we are providing to minimise disruption during our work on the new sea defences.
We apologise for the delay in reopening and the impact this had on many residents who rely on the footbridge for their daily commute. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the closure of the footbridge.
With Peronne Road footbridge reopened we will now soon be commencing work near the railway bridge and the small footbridge here will be closed for the remainder of the project (until December 2025). Diversion routes will be signposted near the bridge and shared on our website, social media and information boards around the area.
